Voice Mail 1.0
Requirements: Windows 3.0, VBRUN100.dll, Soundblaster, Vrec, Vplay
Microphone.
VBRUN100.DLL is a runtime library that contains all the routines that Visual
Basic nees to work.
Sound Blaster is a Speech/Music/Voice add on card for PC's. Sound Blaster
also includes VREC and VPLAY programs that VMAIL uses.
Any old or new MICROPHONE from a cassette recorder will do.
Notes:
VMAIL must be installed in it's own sub-directory, C:\VMAIL.
Soundblaster must reside in it's default sub-directory, C:\SB.
VREC and VPLAY must reside in their default sub-directory,
C:\SB\VOXKIT.
Files included:
VMAIL.EXE -- The executable program that runs under Windows 3.0.
VMAIL.CFG -- The ASCII file that contains the default screen colors.
VMAIL.DOC -- This document.
To record a message:
1. Type the name of the person who is receiving the mail. This name
also will be used as a DOS file name so remember to limit it to 8
characters.
2. Press ENTER, or point at RECORD and click the left MOUSE BUTTON.
3. When VREC tells you that the timer has started begin your
message. You have 30 seconds maximum recording time. To
stop recording before the 30 seconds elapses just press ESC.
To play a message:
1. Highlight the name by TABBING to the list box and using the UP/DOWN
arrow keys. Or, point at your selection and press the left MOUSE
BUTTON.
2. Tab to PLAY and press ENTER or point at PLAY and press the left
MOUSE BUTTON.
To delete a message:
1. Highlight the name by TABBING to the list box and using the UP/DOWN
arrow keys. Or, point at your selection and press the left MOUSE
BUTTON.
2. Tab to DELETE and press ENTER or point at DELETE and press the left
MOUSE BUTTON.
